The price is higher, of course, usually around USD 80-120 per car (one way). But if you're traveling as a couple or a small group, the cost per person isn't that far off from a limousine shuttle.
Why It Feels Different
The biggest difference is how the journey feels.
With a private car, everything is simpler:
- You leave when you're ready
- You don't need to wait for anyone else
- The drive is quiet and uninterrupted
It feels more relaxed, especially if you've just arrived in Hanoi or don't want to deal with too many logistics early in the morning. It's also nice knowing that once you get in the car, you're already on your way - no extra stops, no delays.
So, Which One Would I Choose?
Honestly, both options are fine. It just depends on what you expect from the journey.
If you're looking for something easy and budget-friendly, the shuttle bus does the job. It's convenient and widely used, especially for first-time visitors.
But if you care about comfort, timing, and a smoother start to your trip, a private car feels like a small upgrade that makes a noticeable difference.
