Emeraude
Cruise: In 1910 a paddle steamer
called the Emeraude was offering unforgettable cruises in Halong Bay for
visitors to what was then French Indochina. The Emeraude was part of a
flotilla owned by the Roque family who had left Bordeaux in 1858 in search
of adventure and fortune. Over a period of more than 50 years they found
both. After several ups and downs including successful trading and timber
businesses, near bankruptcy and being taken hostage by pirates, the Roque
brothers built Emeraude, Perle, Saphir, Rubis and Onyx to ferry passengers
and freight along the waterways of Indochina and cruise on magnificent
Halong Bay.Today the Emeraude offers a regular cruise service on board a
luxurious replicasteamer with 39 cabins meticulously designed to evoke the
nostalgic charm of colonial Indochina.
Jewal of the Bayal:
The ‘Jewel of
the Bay’ is a modern fully equipped motorized vessel
with the added capability of navigation by sail (which we
use whenever there is enough wind). She measures
approximately 37 meters long from bow to stern and has two
64 HP engines making her one of the fastest boats in the
Bay. The vessel was finished in March 2003 and we think
you’ll agree she offers an elegant and luxurious way to
explore Ha Long Bay. The Junk is effectively split into
three levels: top, middle and lower and can be best
described as a floating hotel.
Dragon's
Pearl:
Traditonal style with today's modern amenities. In keeping with the
tradition of wooden boat building, this 32 meter long, 8-meter wide
masterpiece is constructed of the finest quality materials by the hands of
skilled craftsman. Designed after the Chinese sailing Junks of old, there
are three traditional sails; a 13-meter main sail, a 14-meter front sail,
and a 7-meter cross sail. As you enter the Dragon's Pearl you come to
the reception counter on the first of the two lower decks, which have a
total of 18 twin/double fully equipped cabins. Each 9m2, air-conditioned
cabin boasts its own bathroom with hot water shower, a closet and night
table. In each cabin you enjoy the elegant design of the fine woodwork that
is evident throughout. For your convenience, there are also 3 shared
bathrooms onboard including on the dining deck.
